Hey Look, I’m A Book Author!

Startup Mixology by Frank Gruber

As many of my close friends, family, and followers know already, I have been on a bit of an adventure outside the realm of my day-to-day work on Tech Cocktail lately. After several years of working with different publishers, I finally inked a book deal with Wiley last summer. The book that I wrote is Startup Mixology: Tech Cocktail’s Guide to Building, Growing, and Celebrating Startup Success. I just finished reviewing the edits that the publisher made to my 240-page manuscript and feel a sense of accomplishment. It was one of the most difficult things that I have had to do while continuing to work full-time. But I know the real work has just begun, as I’ve made it my personal mission to get this book into the hands of as many aspiring entrepreneurs as possible.

It has always been a life dream to write a book. I wrote this book to share my story and learnings while also sharing the stories and lessons of a number of amazing and inspiring entrepreneurs that created such companies as MakerBot, WordPress, Zappos, GrubHub, Basecamp, and many more. Throughout, I tell both sides: the harsh reality of starting up, and how you can stay sane and happy with little moments of celebration.

I’ve got some great support through endorsements (like the ones below) and a wonderful foreword by Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh.

“Frank Gruber’s Startup Mixology is a clear and thoughtful distillation of what it takes to take an idea and turn it into a business. I encourage entrepreneurs of all backgrounds to read this book and apply its lessons.”  Steve Case, chairman and CEO, Revolution, co-founder, AOL, and chairman, Case Foundation

Startup Mixology is an inspiring guide to help take that leap in the right direction. Gruber’s advice on delighting your consumers and thinking like an entrepreneur is uniquely tailored to fit today’s modern, wired age.” Randi Zuckerberg, founder and CEO, Zuckerberg Media, and author, Dot Complicated

“Too many entrepreneurs these days are burning out, stressing out, and pretending they have no choice. Startup Mixology reminds us all to pause and celebrate the small victories – because the game is really a marathon.” Gary Vaynerchuk, bestselling author and co-founder, VaynerMedia
